Mga Kapamilya Eula Caballero
![]() |
Sabi niya, “Actually, pinilit naming kuhanan lahat yesterday and, so far, nakuhanan naman namin lahat.
"And they have to edit some parts kasi masyadong mahaba and then yung sa mga voice-overs, okay na rin.
"So, I think, so far, I think kumpleto na kami.”
Dagdag ni Eula, “I guess we have to wait lang from the editors, baka may mga hindi papasang eksena, baka i-reshoot so...
"So far naman, naka-block-off pa kami for taping ng two days pa, pero natapos na naming lahat.”
"Like sa Cassandra, action kami, horror-drama-fantasy, so ang dami naming pangangailangan.
"So, I just learn to accept and adjust.”
Mga Kapamilya Jasmine Curtis-Smith
AFTER her winning performance in the Cinemalaya entry "Transit," which gave her her first Best Supporting Actress trophy, young actress Jasmine Curtis-Smith will be featured in new independent film "Puti."
Directed by Mike Alcazaren, "Puti" is one of the eight films included in the first CineFilipino Film Festival to be shown in selected cinemas in Metro Manila starting September 18.
Jasmine told Sun.Star that technically, "Puti" is her first independent movie since it was shot ahead of "Transit." However, the latter however was shown on the big screen on a much earlier date.
The younger actress said she's not expecting any award for "Puti" but said she gave her all for the movie.
"Puti" is also different from her role in "Transit," where she played a rebellious teenager caught up in stories of Filipinos in Tel Aviv during the time when the government planned to deport children of foreign workers who didn't match the Israeli's residency criteria.
"Here my challenge was becoming an eerie person. Konting dialogue lang pero intense ka tumingin and facial reaction. In 'Transit' kasi it's more on language barrier that was what I had to overcome," she said.
Aside from what is required of her, Jasmine said she studied her role well to be at par with her co-stars Bryan Pagala, Leo Rialp, Lauren Young and Ian Veneracion.
She also gained new friendship with Lauren during the course of the film.
Although they don't have any scene together, Jasmine said they went to all the script readings and pre-production preparations of the film.
"She's done a few indie films prior to 'Puti' and gusto ko din naman na magmukhang okay next to her kasi of course we are of the same age and I want to be at par," Jasmine said.
"We have mutual friends and same age. Kami din kasi ni Laurel, we have the same set up, we have older sisters who are in the industry before us. We're both going to school. We had no difficulty in clicking," she added.
Jasmine meanwhile said her older sister, Anne, is proud of her latest acting feat.
The "It's Showtime" host personally texted Jasmine after she won the award in July and immediately asked to see her trophy from the film festival.
When sought for her reaction on comments that she's the better actress than her older sister, after she bagged the Best Supporting Actress trophy in her first film, Jasmine said she had one advantage from her sister.
"With the roles that I got from TV5 as a newbie, na challenge ako agad agad. I really have to level up my acting when she slowly progress. But I got that advantage because of her," she said.
She added that Anne started in the business more than 10 years ago and slowly rises as one of the top leading ladies of the industry. Jasmine said she wouldn't be part of show business if it weren't for her sister.
Meantime, Jasmine's exclusive contract with TV5 will expire this November and she's keen to into a new deal with the network.
"I'm so happy with TV5. With the allowance that they've been giving me in terms of time with school and to rest and projects. Sobrang luwag nila," she ended. (Sunnex)

Kapamilya: Sa'yo Lamang Movie
As its 17th anniversary offering, Star Cinema brings to the big screen a powerhouse family drama on September 1.
After making history in 2000 via the movie Tanging Yaman, Star Cinema now rekindles the spirit of the Filipino family with another grand movie project topbilled by Lorna Tolentino and Christopher de Leon, Diether Ocampo, Coco Martin, Zanjoe Marudo, Shaina Magdayao, Enchong Dee, Empress, Miles Ocampo, Lauren Young and Bea Alonzo.
Under the direction of Laurice Guillen, Sa'yo Lamang zeroes in on the life of the Filipino family, laden with issues and hardships, testing their strength and togetherness in their most trying times.
At the press conference held last August 19 at the Dolphy Theater in ABS-CBN, some of the cast members who came to meet the press—Miles, Lauren, Coco, Zanjoe, Diether, Bea, Christopher and Lorna—share their thoughts on why their family is very important to them.
For lead actor Christopher de Leon, his family is what drives him. "They are the reason why I'm working hard. They are my inspiration. They are, what I would say, something to live for. Kung wala ang pamilya ko, siguro, I'll be a goner. Wala. Walang direksyon ang buhay ko, like before."
Asked if they are willing to sacrifice for their
family, the cast members all answered they will selflessly give everything for their loved ones.
"Hindi naman ako nandito ngayon kung hindi dahil sa kanila," acknowledges Loren. "So, kung kinakailangan kong i-sacrifice ng sarili ko, gagawin ko."
Coco has the same comment on how he will do anything and give everything for his family. "Kahit buhay ko pa, ibibigay ko, para sa pamilya ko."
Zanjoe says he's willing to work hard and give his all for his family. "Hangga't kaya ko pa at hangga't kailangan, para sa pamilya, basta tama,
gagawin ko ang lahat-lahat."
Christopher and Bea both says they are willing to give up their own personal happiness for their respective families.
"Gaano kalaki man yun, kung kinakailangan, gagawin ko. Kaya kong isakripisyo ang sarili kong kaligayahan para sa pamilya ko," says Bea.
"They are my everything. I'm willing to do anything for my family.
They are what motivates me," Diet shares.
While Sa'yo Lamang is about a family undergoing a difficult and trying time, Lorna says this movie is also about the faith one has in trusting everything to God in times of crisis.
"After all, sa huli wala ka naman talagang ibang makakapitan at makapagbibigay sa iyo ng lakas kundi Siya lang. Wala kang ibang mahahawakan,
kundi ang Panginoon lang,"
shares Lorna.
Star Cinema promises Sa'yo Lamang is a heartwarming story that will bring viewers to the brink of tears and feelings of hope. It will premiere on September
1 in over 100 theaters nationwide.
